School Board Attorney Replacement
The Board of School Trustees of MSD of North Posey County, Poseyville, Indiana, is seeking letters of interest from attorneys interested in serving as the School Board Attorney.
The Board of School Trustees of MSD of North Posey County, Poseyville, Indiana, is seeking letters of interest from attorneys interested in serving as the School Board Attorney.
- Letters will be accepted until 3:00 pm CDT on Friday, December 13, 2024 at the Office of Superintendent, located at 101 N. Church St., Poseyville, IN. Submissions may also be emailed to .
- The School Board Attorney is an appointed position, not an elected one.
- Interested candidates will be interviewed by the School Board Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent, after which a selection will be made.
- The position requires a one-year term, with reappointment occurring each January during the regularly scheduled School Board meeting.
- Candidates must hold specific licensure/accreditation to serve as a School Board Attorney, but may secure it through the Indiana School Board Association if not already obtained.
- The School Board will negotiate compensation with the appointed attorney. The current rate is $175.00 per hour.
- By Monday, December 2, 2024: Advertise the position on social media and in local newspapers.
- December 13, 2024: Deadline for submission of letters of interest. Submissions will be distributed to the School Board for review prior to the January meeting.
- January 2024: Conduct interviews with candidates during the School Board Executive Session.
- February 2024: Appoint the new School Board Attorney at the regularly scheduled School Board meeting.
